Work begins on new culinary arts center
Ontario County officially broke ground today on a new $24 million state-of-the-art culinary arts facility along Lakeshore Drive in Canandaigua, marking a major investment in the region's food culture, wine education, agritourism, and community growth. Once completed by the end of 2027, the modern center will house Finger Lakes Community College's culinary degree and certificate programs, New York Kitchen, and an auxiliary office for the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County. The development is being led by DJC Architecture for design, Passero Associates for civil and landscape engineering, DJCA Cornerstone for pre-construction services, and LeChase Construction overseeing construction management.
